I cannot transform myself, or anyone else for that matter.  What I can do is create the conditions in which spiritual transformation can take place, by developing and maintaining a rhythm of spiritual practices that keep me open and available to God.
Ruth Haley Barton,  Sacred Rhythms

Sacred Rhythms: Arranging Our Lives for Spiritual Transformation

New Group on Wednesdays from 12 Noon to 1 PM

This Spring we continue  Practicing Sacred Rhythms, a new group that experiments with spiritual practices such as centering prayer, devotional reading of scripture (Lectio Divina), contemplative prayer, and more.

These activities help us to notice both God and our God-given desires throughout the day, to be fully present in life that is often filled with the demands and pressures of both work and home.

In this group we will experience and experiment with different spiritual practices, or spiritual exercises which have been part of the experience of Christian believers for many centuries.   Although ancient, 21st century Christians from many church backgrounds and cultures are rediscovering the power of these simple practices.   Many have found them to be life changing.

Anyone is welcome to join this group at anytime.

Although not required, all attendees are encouraged to read Ruth Haley Barton's book:  Sacred Rhythms.

The group is facilitated by Sean Bowen and Burnedette MacDonald.

Location:
Vineyard Church of Hopkinton
84 South Street
Hopkinton MA

Group meets in the conference room near the back of the sanctuary.
